While attending a gym is often times about the actual workout itself, CrossFit gyms tend to build a community that make people want to stay with it for the long haul. This is a hard concept to introduce to people that have only ever worked out at a YMCA or Planet Fitness, but the feeling in a community driven gym is unparalleled, here’s why:
1. No Ghosting
While it’s easy to just stop going to a regular gym, the coaches and athletes at a CrossFit gym often check in and see where you’ve been. In fact, our athletes have 24/7 access to our work cell phone and we text our clients weekly, daily, or as needed. It’s not uncommon for our athletes to even send pictures of their lunches to the coaches in order to hold themselves accountable. We care about your success and we make sure you stick to the goals you came in with so that you can succeed.
2. Everyone Knows Your Name
Our athletes make it a point to say hi to all new members and to make them feel welcome. Not sure where something is? Our members help each other out in class every day, putting away weights, helping maneuver the gym, and getting to know each other.
3. Part of Something Bigger
Since our gym also trains at risk and high risk youth every day for free, we have an additional dimension to our vision. While we love to train adults and nothing gives us greater joy than helping adults regain mobility, strength, and endurance when they thought it was lost, we also love to train teenagers to be better human beings. Seeing that in person is a wonderful thing and on Saturdays at 10am, our adults and our teenagers come together for our community workout. The cooperation and accountability that exists in the adult classes helps the teens as well and being able to experience that in person is nothign short of amazing.
